This role involves working in the Primary School, based on the Russ Campus. Our Primary School has around 50 students of various ages from 4 to 10 years old. The children all come from rural villages surrounding the Russ Campus, alongside a small number who live at our Home for Children without Parents.
there is opportunity for supporting the teachers in the lessons that are taught in English, whilst working with groups of children alone…
All of our volunteers have a real chance to get fully involved in the daily school routine, alongside any additional events that occur throughout the year. Additionally, our volunteers are able to sometimes take part in our Community Outreach works, particularly at the Evening Tuition Centres that we operate for children who are unable to attend school, whilst providing additional support to children whose parents are unable to assist in their studies (a bit like a homework club).
Being a Care Work volunteer is a great chance to spend time at our Children’s Home, currently home to 25 children with various backgrounds. This is a truly rewarding opportunity to get the chance to really influence the lives of children that all have their own unique, often very sad, stories to tell.
All of the children at our home have been given a new life, where they can prosper as individuals – and spending time here is often a highlight of any volunteers time at the Russ Foundation. Whilst here, you will also have the chance to spend time at the school.
The campus has a hospice
Ask Berlin what we can put in relation to working at the hospice / if it is possible
